National Day Campaign Workshop – Sustainable Celebrations

National Day is a time of pride, joy, and togetherness across the UAE. This community workshop brings families and children together to celebrate that spirit while exploring how our celebrations can be more connected to nature and mindful of the resources we use. At the heart of the workshop is the use of whole leaves and other natural materials to create National Day-inspired decorations and installations. Through hands-on activities, participants will explore the textures, shapes, colours, and possibilities of leaves, learning how natural materials can be incorporated into celebrations without relying on single-use or disposable products. The workshop encourages participants to rethink what celebration materials can be. Rather than buying decorations that are used once and thrown away, families will experiment with natural materials and creative techniques that can inspire more sustainable traditions at home and within the community.
