This policy describes what information Eventovia ("we", "us") collects when you use eventovia.com, and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Usage data. Standard web analytics — pages visited, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address (used for the "Near Me" feature), browser/device type.
- Search queries. Terms entered on the Search page are processed to return results; we do not sell search query data.
- Cookies. Used for basic site functionality and, where enabled, advertising (see "Advertising" below).
We do not require account creation and do not collect names, emails, or payment information directly.
How we use information
- To operate and improve the site (e.g., which cities/categories are popular)
- To detect and prevent abuse (e.g., rate-limiting search and image requests)
- To serve advertising, where enabled (see below)
Advertising
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. These partners may use cookies or similar technology to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of it, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA — this can include the use of advertising cookies).

Canada — federal (PIPEDA)

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Québec (Law 25)
If you are in Québec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) applies. In addition to the rights above, you may:
- withdraw your consent to the collection or use of your personal information;
- receive the personal information you have provided in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability);
- ask that a link to information about you be de-indexed or that its dissemination cease, where the conditions set by law are met;
- be informed of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, and lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Cookies used for advertising or measurement are not required to browse this site; you can refuse them in your browser settings or through the opt-out tools linked under "Advertising" above.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the processing described above. Eventovia decides why and how that processing happens and is therefore the controller; you can reach us at [email protected].
Why we are allowed to process your data.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — operating the site, understanding which cities and categories are used, and preventing abuse such as automated scraping or request floods. We use only what those purposes need: no account, no name, no email address, no payment details.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for advertising or measurement cookies. Those cookies are not in use on this site today; if they are introduced, they will be set only after you agree, and you may withdraw that agreement at any time.
Your rights. You may request access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, and portability of data you provided to us. You may object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling for advertising purposes.
One limitation, stated plainly. Because we do not require an account and do not collect names or email addresses, the data we hold usually cannot be linked to you as an identifiable person. Where that is so, Article 11 GDPR applies: we are not required to obtain additional information for the sole purpose of identifying you. If you wish to exercise a right, tell us enough to locate the data — for example the approximate time and the page concerned. If we cannot locate it, we will tell you so rather than act on a guess.
Where your data goes. The servers that run this site and hold its database are located in the United States. Using the site therefore involves transferring your data outside the EEA and the United Kingdom.
Automated decision-making. We do not take decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning you by automated means (Art. 22).
Complaints. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France the CNIL, in the United Kingdom the ICO — or with the authority of the country where you live or work.
