About this event

A Spanish practice session focuses on a modern Argentine folk song.

Full description from organizer

Come practice Spanish through iconic Latin American songs, this time we're diving into a modern Argentine folk song! Want to actually use your Spanish in Buenos Aires without sitting through another language class? Sing Your Spanish is a social music experience where people from around the world come together to practice Spanish, discover Latin American music, and meet new people in a relaxed, judgment-free space. You don’t need to be a singer. And this is definitely NOT a Spanish class! The idea is simple - sometimes the easiest way to get more comfortable using a language is to stop worrying so much about “practicing” it and start doing something fun with it! This Saturday, we’ll learn and sing two surprise songs by iconic Latin American artists. We’ll play with the lyrics, pick up some of the language and cultural context behind the songs, and then sing them together. No perfect Spanish required. No perfect singing required. Just come ready to participate, laugh, meet people, and use the Spanish you already have. AND THEN WE’RE TAKING IT OUTSIDE! After Sing Your Spanish, we’ll head out together for a casual café hangout. Stay for the whole thing or come for the Sing Your Spanish session and see where the afternoon takes you. THIS IS FOR YOU IF… You’re living in or visiting Buenos Aires and want to actually use your Spanish more. You’d love to meet people from around the world and connect with locals too! You love music and like the idea of using it as a fun, low-pressure way to practice Spanish. You want something more social and spontaneous than another Spanish lesson or traditional language exchange. And especially if you’d love a fun, low-pressure way to use more Spanish in real life. You’ll fit right in! COMING ALONE? PLEASE DO! Most people come on their own, so you definitely won’t be the only one! We’ll make it easy to connect with people once you’re there. Sing Your Spanish is actually designed to make it easy to meet people without having to walk into a room and awkwardly figure out who to talk to.
