ASBTE South Australia Regional Showcase 2026 Join us for a day of innovation, research and networking at the 2026 ASBTE South Australia Regional Showcase! The Australasian Society for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (ASBTE) warmly invites researchers, students, academics and industry professionals to the 2026 South Australian Regional Showcase, hosted at Adelaide University. This one-day event celebrates the exciting research being undertaken across South Australia in biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The showcase provides an opportunity to share research findings, discover emerging technologies, foster collaborations and connect with the local scientific community. What to Expect The showcase will feature research presentations spanning a diverse range of topics, including: • Biomaterials & Hydrogels – Advanced materials for biomedical applications. • Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine – Innovative approaches to tissue repair and regeneration. • 3D Printing & Biofabrication – Emerging technologies for engineering biological systems. • Nanomedicine & Drug Delivery – Novel approaches to therapeutic delivery. • Antimicrobial Biomaterials & Wound Healing – Materials designed to improve clinical outcomes. • Cancer Research & Biomedical Applications – Emerging technologies and materials for understanding and treating disease. These topics reflect research areas featured at previous ASBTE events, with the 2026 presentation program to be finalised. Invited Guest Speakers We are delighted to welcome invited guest speakers who will share insights into their research and the latest developments in their respective fields. Confirmed invited speaker: Professor Michael SamuelResearch Professor of Matrix BiologyCentre for Cancer Biology, Adelaide University Professor Samuel leads research investigating the tumour microenvironment, with a particular focus on how interactions between cancer cells and their surrounding tissues influence cancer progression and treatment responses. Additional invited speakers will be announced soon! Networking & Collaboration Beyond the research presentations, attendees will have opportunities to connect with fellow researchers, students and industry representatives. The day will include morning tea, lunch and dedicated networking opportunities, providing an environment for exchanging ideas, discussing emerging research and establishing new collaborations.
