Join our Being Digital group class on Tuesday afternoons to learn more about computers, technology and the Internet! We are an official partner of the Be Connected program, with many different sessions each month ranging from identifying online scams, understanding your device, internet safety and much more. Lessons will be general in nature in order to benefit the whole class. Please checkout out our other classes or come to our Digital Drop-ins for personalised assistance. Held weekly on Tuesdays, 1pm - 2pm. During school term only. These lessons are free, with bookings required for each lesson. Please check the itinerary below and register for the topics you are interested in. Term 3 2026 Itinerary: • 21 July - Internet for beginners: What is the Internet and how can we use it? This lesson will cover basic Internet navigation skills. • 28 July - Email basics: Learn about different email providers, how to create an account, and how to use basic email features like attach, reply, forward. • 4 August - Understanding web browsers: Learn more about web browsers and how you can modify them to suit your needs. • 11 August - Tips to protect your privacy online: Learn some general tips to create safe passwords and manage your account and device permissions. • 18 August - Technology and your hobbies: Whether you enjoy crafts, woodwork, gardening, or lifting weights, we'll discuss how you can use technology to help support the things you are passionate about. • 25 August - An introduction to Microsoft Outlook and Teams: Find out what how these services can help you collaborate with others. • 1 September - Research travel online: Learn how to safely research and book your travel experiences online • 8 September - Introduction to social media: Discover the most common social media apps and learn how you can safely use them to connect with others. • 15 September - What is smart home technology? Learn what a smart home technology is and discover how smart home technology can benefit you. • 22 September - An overview of generative AI: Learn more about artificial intelligence and the pros and cons of generative AI.
