Connecting to culture through the art of Malay cuisine Join Good Social Kitchen’s very own Rabia H Quraishi for a personal guided workshop on cooking ‘Ayam Masak Lemak’, a delectable Malay curry enjoyed with rice and a side of stir fried vegetables! Good Social Kitchen is grounded in cultural expression and a deep connection to many ethnic backgrounds inclusing Malaysian, lovingly cultivated by the Quraishi family here in Adelaide. At its heart is Rabia H Quraishi, chef and family matriarch, who learned from her elders, carrying their teachings with her as the family migrated to Australia. Through Good Social Kitchen, she has passed these traditions on to her family as a continued practice of connecting to culture. Together, they showcase the art of Malay cuisine while sharing its spirit of generosity and hospitality with the wider community. Passed down through generations, these food rituals weave connections to the past while fostering belonging and community in the present. Join Rabia to cook together, share stories, share a meal, and experience the rich cultural threads of Malaysia through its cuisine.
