About this event

A walking tour through Kent Town discusses urban corridor developments and lessons learned.

Full description from organizer

Join us for a walking tour through Kent Town to discuss Urban Corridor developments, and the lessons we can learn from them In the last 10-15 years, Adelaide has seen significant growth along "urban corridors"; key areas, typically along arterial roads, where higher density development has become increasingly common. At its worst, fragmented land ownership and a lack of development coordination could lead to poor development outcomes. At best, development can transform a main street into a lively and thriving hub. Join us as we examine four key areas where this development has taken place, and we examine the successes and failures of urban corridor development. In this event, we'll take a walk through Kent Town, on the eastern edge of the Adelaide Park Lands, where we'll look at recent developments and consider what lessons we can learn for development to come. Please note that this event is strictly limited to 20 tickets due to the logistics of the walking tour, so be sure to register quickly to avoid disappointment! Tour Guide Carlos Buzzetti RPIA (Fellow) Carlos is the General Manager, Urban Planning & Environment at the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, with previous planning and management roles at the cities of Holdfast Bay and Burnside, and in Dubai. He has been intimately involved in inner metropolitan structure and growth planning in Adelaide for over two decades, and has seen the transformation of Kent Town from the initial concept of it as a hub of growth, through to today.
