Dr Sandra Kearney "Books in My Life" A Tuesday Talk

Dr Sandra Kearney, a professional historian, is a graduate of Flinders University. A former secretary of the History Council of South Australia, she is the current secretary of the Professional Historians’ Association Inc (SA Branch). Her professional interests, curiosity and studies to date have focused on people, their stories, their representation and their experiences within the gaps of historical events that often differ to the celebrated images in the public domain. Sandra was the managing editor of the most recent edition of the Wakefield Companion to South Australian History 2025. She previously studied horticulture with plantsmanship at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Scotland where she also gained a diploma in garden history. She continues to enjoy writing garden history articles for the Australian Garden History Journal. Her other passion is books such that her book boxes outnumbered all other processions when she arrived in Australia from Ireland in the early 2000s.
