Governing for NFP Volunteer Board Performance Join Volunteering SA&NT and VUCA for a one-day facilitated course designed for current and aspiring not-for-profit board members, and executives who report to boards. Governing for NFP Volunteer Board Performance will explore the practical responsibilities of volunteer boards, including legal and financial obligations, risk, accountability, stakeholder management, organisational culture, sustainability and the board’s role in strategy. The course will use practical insights, case studies and discussion to help participants better understand board roles and responsibilities, strengthen governance knowledge, and apply key governance principles in real-world not-for-profit and volunteer-involving organisation settings. The session will be facilitated by David A Spear FAICD FAIM, who brings more than 25 years’ experience in commercial business management, governance, strategic leadership, strategy, risk, membership associations and chairmanship across the not-for-profit sector. David is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management, and has studied Board Governance at Harvard Business School.
