Introduction to Soft Pastels Discover the immediate and rich practice of working with soft pastel on dedicated pastel papers. In this workshop you will explore materials and safe work practices in a two hour class. We will play with mark making, basic composition and colour theory and develop a simple 3 colour pastel still life painting from observing fruit. Participants will have a base set of three primary coloured pastel sticks provided to start a collection of soft pastels. Bring an apron and come prepared to play. Suitable for beginners or artists working in other media who would like to try soft pastel. Extreme and Catastrophic Fire Danger Ratings When an 'Extreme 75+' or Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, the Adelaide Hills Council Community Centre's will be closed, and all classes and programs will be cancelled without notice. Any monies paid will either be reimbursed or the course will be rescheduled for a later date.
