Mums and Bubs - Pottery with Saskia

Mums and Bubs - Pottery with Saskia Create your own celebration plate & Christmas decoration As a Nurse/Midwife working in the healthcare centre at Adelaide Women's Prison living on 10 acres with my husband & three adult children (+ 1st grandbaby on the way) & caring for my ageing parents (mum with Dementia) I understand how easy it is to put everyone else’s needs before your own. That’s why I started these pottery workshops - to create a relaxed and welcoming space where you can take a couple of hours to do something fun and creative for yourself. I understand the importance of "filling your cup up first so you can give from your overflow"! Whether you’re a busy mum, grandparent, carer (paid or unpaid), work in healthcare or education or simply someone who needs a little time away from the busyness of everyday life you’re welcome. No experience needed and you definitely don’t need to be creative! I’ll have everything ready, clay rolled out with easy templates and baby & beginner-friendly activities. *Note: Baby-friendly (under 6 months) Dads, Grandparents or support person welcome and encouraged to attend with Mum to support activities for free. I will guide you through making your personalised celebration plate and unique Christmas decoration. Just come along, have a play with clay and enjoy the process. I’ll take care of the finishing, firing and glazing so you’ll have a beautiful piece to treasure ready in time for Christmas. There’s no pressure to be perfect. It’s simply about slowing down, having some fun and doing something for yourself. A little bit of science behind it.... Did you know that working with clay deactivates your overthinking brain? The tactile experience shuts down your sympathetic nervous system fight or flight (stress mode) and triggers your parasympathetic nervous system "rest and digest" state putting your body into a relaxed state. Just 45 minutes of playing with clay can lower your body's stress hormone (cortisol) by up to 30% and boosting mood-lifting serotontin? Mums and Bubs pottery workshops with Saskia (Qualified Midwife) is your time to give back to yourself and do something fun and creative with your baby (or Grandbaby). So come along, take some time for yourself and have some fun creating with clay.
