The Mechanics of Networking: How to Walk Into Any Room and Start the Conversation

Most people think good networkers are born confident. They're not. They've just learned the mechanics. In this practical, high-energy session, Krystle Jencik, the Social Mechanic, breaks down exactly how to start a conversation with a stranger, turn small talk into something real, and present yourself with confidence, whether you're in a networking room, an interview, or speaking to a crowd. No scripts, no fake confidence. Just simple, repeatable tools you can use the moment the session ends. You'll walk away with: • A simple framework for approaching and opening a conversation at any event, without feeling awkward or rehearsed • How to move past surface-level small talk into conversations people actually remember, and how to exit gracefully • A 30-second way to introduce yourself so people know who you are and what you do Date: Tuesday 17 November Time: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm Venue: Majestic M Suite, North Adelaide We'll have snacks, complimentary tea, juice, and soft drink available.
