2 Day Sewing Workshop Lvl. 1 - Brisbane Campus

This workshop provides aspiring designers with the opportunity to develop and strengthen their sewing and garment construction skills. Level: Beginner, no assumed knowledge In this workshop, students are introduced to the fundamentals of garment construction, with a focus on basic sewing techniques, machine operation, and safe studio practice. They will learn how to thread and operate industrial sewing machines, apply key occupational health and safety principles, and develop confidence using essential garment-making equipment. This workshop provides a practical introduction to core construction skills used in fashion design. Across the two-day program, students will progress from sample-making to constructing a button-up shirt. On Day 1, participants will begin with machine familiarisation and pre-cut samples before learning key seam techniques. On Day 2, students will complete the construction of a simple button-up shirt, applying finishing techniques with guidance. Two levels of complexity will be offered to support different skill levels. By the end of the workshop, students will have gained foundational garment construction skills and completed a finished button-up sample demonstrating core sewing and assembly techniques.
