About Home | Mixed Media Art Workshop with Monique Baqués

Spend an afternoon with Brisbane-based artist Monique Baqués creating a small mixed media house inspired by ideas of home, belonging and memory. Presented as part of Monique’s exhibition Domesticidad, this two-hour workshop uses simple domestic and everyday materials as a starting point for making. You’ll experiment with wrapping, weaving, joining and transforming materials to create a small house that reflects your own associations with home. Rather than focusing on technical perfection, the workshop encourages experimentation, intuition and personal interpretation. Monique will guide the group through the process and introduce different ways of combining materials, textures and forms. No art experience is required, and all materials are supplied.
