Author's Talk & Book Launch - Leaders and Larrikins

Dr. Christopher Reynolds, presents: Leaders and Larrikins: Great Australian Stories Pirates. Convicts. Rebels. Tycoons: the wild stories behind the making of Australia With sales of over 2,500 copies of What a Capital Idea – Australia 1770-1901 in the past 18 months and over 100 speaking engagements, Christopher brings us his new and unique write up of Australian characters. “With a desire to bring the people of our past alive, I ventured to really get into their stories. As a natural bard, or story teller, I could see the people and their surroundings: I could hear their conversation; feel their excitement; their stress and even their pain at times. So, I wrote 20 short novel stories about people from our past based on true dates and events,” says Dr. Reynolds. “In Leaders and Larrikins, people will met the pirate, the two convicts who took a ship's captain to court and won, the brilliant Macquarie, the football pioneer, the boundary rider behind BHP, or the two constitutional minds who imagined very different Australias.” “… you have undertaken a great service for the people of Australia and future generations,” says Eric Abetz, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia. Leaders and Larrikins is a unique presentation as never written before. You are going to love it – don’t wait for the movie! The Q&A talk starts at 10.00am followed by a delicious Devonshire Tea.
