Emotion Killer and Symphony of Putrescence at Brewdog Fortitude Valley

Gold Coast's Nu-Deathcore provocateurs Emotion Killer cause Monday night mayhem alongside Symphony of Putrescence. Monday nights at BrewDog have gotten considerably heavier. Drawing from nu-metalcore, industrial metal, groove metal, death metal and Australian underground music, Gold Coast's Emotion Killer sit somewhere between the crushing modernity of Alpha Wolf and Emmure, the bleakness of The Acacia Strain, the swagger of Limp Bizkit and Ocean Grove, the ferocity of Napalm Death, Morbid Angel, Celtic Frost, and the blunt irreverence of Australian underground music. EK write about alienation, heartbreak, grief, trauma, resentment, hypocrisy, existential dread and telling people to fuck off. Sometimes it's serious. Sometimes it's taking the piss. Sometimes it's both at once. The band's lyrics don't particularly care about maintaining the usual metal aesthetic of tortured poetry and manufactured darkness, with every lyric being literal. The band has released multiple singles and their debut EP, Tragic Life in a Modern World, and is currently sitting on a new, significantly heavier EP that has yet to see the light of day. Making your Monday night in the Valley considerably louder is Symphony of Putrescence, a blackened drone metal project bringing a wall of amplifiers, layered distortion and sustained sonic violence to the evening. Self-described as “part music, part deep tissue massage.” Come get your Monday night ruined.
