MRF26 Official After Party

Following the popular Meanjin Reggae Festival, Queensland's biggest free reggae event, comes the hugely popular MRF After Party, where festival performers, crew, guests and public come together to finish off the night with the serious stuff, hard roots dub reggae ina sound system style. Held inside our spiritual home, Jagera Community Hall, this event takes sound system pressure to a different level.This year we pay homage to our foundation with a night of unity, positivity and upliftment through conscious reggae, roots and dub. Expect a night without comparison for Brisbane. The mighty Roots Recycled (Mullumbimby) power the sound for the night, featuring the legendary Papa Bitcho alongside Twan. Also on the lineup: Stick Mareebo, Jamaican-born, Melbourne-based DJ, MC and promoter, and one of the major driving forces behind Australia's reggae, dancehall and Afro-Caribbean scene for over two decades. A household name on the airwaves with stints on Fox 101.9 FM and Mix 101.1. Festival organisers Champion Sound will be dropping some heavyweight vinyl and doing what we love, bringing unity through music, and always willing to come differently with our selections. Joining us as our MC for the night, will be none other than Jah Tung (Sydney). Jah Tung, who found reggae at 15 and has built a career as a singer and producer that's taken him around the world. Collaborations include Gappy Ranks, YT and Deadly Hunta, and he's held his own on stages opening for Sister Nancy, Macka B and Bushman.
