Netmaking with Sally Pointer

We start the session with a whistlestop tour through the incredibly long history and archaeology of netmaking, a topic which is the focus for Sally’s next book. We will then get to grips with the knots required before learning how to set up both square nets and round version for net bags. Most people go home with a sample of square netting and a net bag in progress. Each participant gets a custom made beechwood shuttle and gauge stick, a professionally printed booklet of class notes, and enough pure linen twine for the class and to finish their bag. BYO lunch, fridge and microwave available. Tea and coffee facilities provided.
