Planning Careers in an Uncertain World: A Career Decision-Making Workshop

Are you a Year 9 or Year 10 student and struggling with career choices? Join us for a practical hour that will transform how you approach your future. We'll challenge common myths (like "just follow your passion") and explore what really makes careers satisfying. You'll discover why career decisions predict health and happiness, navigate the reality of having lots of options in an uncertain future, and learn practical tools to think more clearly about your choices. No empty promises or oversimplified advice—just evidence-based strategies to help you make better decisions. Come with your questions and confusion, leave with practical frameworks and a clearer vision of what might actually work for YOU. • Are there fees involved? • No, this event is FREE (plus, you might get some free snacks too!) • Where is this event being held? • The University of Queensland, St. Lucia campus (more details will be emailed through after registration) Important: Students must return a signed parental consent form to participate. A link to the online form will be sent after you have completed the registration. Please submit completed forms at least two (2) days before your booked event. Note: Please only book the tickets for the young person attending the event. Parents are welcome to watch the presentation - you don't need to get a ticket. Please advise via email if parents would like to attend. If there are less than 10 participants per event, we will contact you to see if we can reschedule to another time.
