School Holiday Dragon Boating Experience

Looking for a fun, active, and completely FREE school holiday activity? Join John as part of Brisbane City Council's Active & Healthy School Holiday Program for an exciting introduction to dragon boating on the Brisbane River. Dragon boating is a unique team sport that combines paddling, teamwork, communication, and fun. Participants will learn the basics of dragon boat paddling while experiencing the excitement of being part of a crew working together on the water. This program is suitable for young people aged 10–15 years and is designed for complete beginners. No previous paddling or dragon boating experience is required. Participants will: • Learn basic dragon boating techniques • Paddle in a real dragon boat on the Brisbane River • Develop teamwork and communication skills • Build confidence in a supportive environment • Learn important water safety concepts • Enjoy an active outdoor adventure during the school holidays All equipment, including paddles and life jackets, is provided. Qualified coaches and experienced dragon boat volunteers will supervise all activities. Why dragon boating? Unlike many sports, dragon boating requires every participant to work together towards a common goal. It's a fantastic way to build confidence, make new friends, stay active, and experience something completely different during the school holidays. Places are limited and bookings are essential.
