Standing with the Stones

STANDING WITH THE STONES An IN THE RAW Season presented by Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre Directed by Indiah Morris Silent statues. Sentinels through time. Standing with the Stones is a contemporary physical theatre work that merges live-feed video, projection, and movement to explore stillness in an age of constant motion. Performers embody the quiet endurance of ancient stone guardians, inviting reflection on slowness amid relentless productivity and digital saturation. The piece contrasts fleeting human existence with the vast continuity of time, positioning the stones as witnesses to history’s unfolding. Intermedial design integrates technology seamlessly into the choreography, creating a meditative tension between presence and meditation, urgency and pause, asking what it means to stand, endure, and simply be. ---------- For over a decade Zen Zen Zo has finished each year with an IN THE RAW show as a ritual conclusion to the year that has been.
