From trends and traditions to tools, techniques and social currents, our creative lives are shaped by influence. Sometimes we inherit it. Sometimes we resist it. Sometimes we quietly reinvent it for ourselves. This year, the Craft + Design Canberra Annual Members Exhibition invites our community of artists and makers to explore the idea of following. What guides our hands, habits and decisions? What do we hold onto, and what do we leave behind? Featuring contemporary craft and design from across the ACT and surrounding region, the exhibition brings together diverse practices that blend time honoured techniques with fresh ideas and experimental approaches. Together, the exhibition offers a snapshot of contemporary making that is thoughtful, playful and at times quietly subversive. This exhibition presents selected works from the award recipients of the 2026 Craft + Design Canberra Daily Creative Challenge. Exhibition | HOW WILL THEY KNOW IT’S ME Artist | Zoe Brand Dates | 24 September – 24 October 2026 Exhibition Statement HOW WILL THEY KNOW IT'S ME is a new exhibition by artist Zoe Brand that explores the performative nature of jewellery as a device for communication. Using jewellery archetypes, ready mades and text, Zoe collects mundane and throwaway statements from casual conversation, examining their ambiguity and transforming them into objects to be worn. Accessibility at the Venue • We aim to make our programs accessible to everyone. We welcome people of all abilities, ages, backgrounds and identities. • Craft + Design Canberra is accessible via a lift at the building entrance with step free access through the exhibition and workshop spaces. • Seating is available at all events and workshops. • An accessible all gender bathroom is available via a heavy fire door. • Assistance animals are welcome throughout the venue. • Please note that our retail space is currently restricted and does not provide a full 1500mm x 1500mm turning circle.
