Full description from organizer

Landscape Rehydration Field Day at Birkenburn Join us for a hands-on day exploring the principles and practices of landscape rehydration. We'll start by unpacking the key concepts behind healthy, functional and resilient landscapes, before learning how to read water patterns, identify signs of landscape function, and understand the processes that shape the movement of water across your property. The day will include visits to an established small-scale landscape rehydration project and a future project site at Birkenburn, providing an opportunity to see these approaches in action and discuss planning, design and implementation considerations. In the afternoon, we'll roll up our sleeves for a practical session, learning simple, low-risk skills and strategies that can help improve the health of your farm's small water cycle, increase landscape resilience and support better outcomes for water, soil and vegetation. Mulloon Institute is a leading research and education organisation helping to build resilient regional communities by supporting the long-term, sustainable growth of Australian agriculture. Date and time: 9am - 3:30pm Cost: $30 (plus booking fee, includes catering) Presenters: Mulloon Institute's Erin Healy and Tam Connor Location: Bungendore region (address supplied upon registration) Contact: [email protected] This event is part of the Mulloon Institute’s Water Stewardship Program, a bold initiative supported by WaterNSW and The Ian Potter Foundation. The program empowers communities in the Sydney Drinking Water Catchment to restore local water cycles, improve water quality, and build resilience to climate change through nature-based solutions. This field day also celebrates the launch of a Water Stewardship Program's Landscape Rehydration Demonstration Site in the Sandhills Creek Catchment, an exciting opportunity for local landholders to connect, learn, and collaborate on regenerative water and land management.
