Full description from organizerShow less
Joh Bjelke-Petersen wrote the populist playbook. Last King of Queensland details Queensland’s longest serving premier’s reign: the bad, the ugly, and everything inbetween. From his nascent rise to farcical fall, Sir Joh offers a look at modern politics through a new lens. Last King of Queensland follows Joh’s career, as commentated by a narrator with perspective from Bjelke-Petersen, as a journalist peppers him with increasingly uncomfortable questions about his public dealings and corruption allegations. Content warnings: - Racism and racial prejudice - References to police brutality - Loud sound cues - Flashing lights Run time: 40 minutes Adapted from work by Matt Condon and Kriv Stenders Special thanks Rachel Pengilly
