Mahalia Barnes & The Soul Mates

Crowd favourite, Mahalia Barnes & The Soul Mates return to Tallagandra Hill for a show you won't want to miss! Mahalia has been in and around music her entire life. Throughout her childhood years she was exposed to everything from Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett to Ike + Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, all of which helped shape her into the powerhouse soul and blues vocalist that has jaws dropping every time she picks up a mic. Don’t expect a quiet, polite, restrained gig, or a gimmicky soul show with costumes & scripted banter. This band covers the full range of the soul music spectrum, the show is dynamic, organic, raw & exciting. Great players, great singing & so much feeling. A wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of Australia’s best singer-songwriters performing in one of the region’s best music venues at Tallagandra Hill.
