Spiritus Short Film Awards Screening

Join us at the Canberra Dendy Theatre for the exclusive screening of the finalists of the 2026 Spiritus Short Film Awards. The Spiritus Short Film Awards are an initiative of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Charles Sturt University, Canberra, and were established in 2015. The Latin word Spiritus means breath or spirit, and the purpose of the Spiritus Short Film Awards is to encourage the production and dissemination of short films that engage the spiritual dimension. Entries selected as finalists are included in a screening at 6pm on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at the Dendy Cinemas, Canberra, as part of the Canberra Short Film Festival. • 6.30pm - Screening of Finalists begins • 7.45pm - Award winners announced, including the People's Choice Award • 8.00pm - Reception in Dendy foyer The prizes are generously funded by donors.
