Pathways Worth Valuing: Launch of the Deakin Applied Learning Lab

Join educators, researchers and partners to explore how we can better value applied and vocational learning. What would it take for applied and vocational pathways to receive the same recognition as academic pathways? Join us for Pathways Worth Valuing, the launch of the Deakin Applied Learning Lab. We’re bringing together educators, school leaders, researchers and partners from across Victoria to share what’s working in applied learning and explore how we can open up more options for young people. The program includes a keynote, a panel discussion and a showcase of applied learning initiatives from our partners. You’ll also have a chance to help shape the Lab’s newsletter by telling us what research, stories and practical ideas you’d like it to share. Wednesday 9 December 2026, 9.30 am - 2 pm AEDT Torquay Room, Waurn Ponds Estate, Deakin University Nicol Drive South, Waurn Ponds VIC 3216 Attendance is free, with morning tea and lunch provided.
