Learn from professional tennis coaches how to move safely within your range of motion, use strategy and develop a game style for over 55s. Tennis is a low-impact and social sport, that can be adapted for a range of physical abilities. Participation rates are fairly steady across age groups, until 55+ when it drops by 60%. In these sessions, the professional coaches from Take to Tennis will enable participants to: - Modify or overcome their physical conditions so that players can move safely on court - Improve hand-eye coordination through basic hitting moves - Increase or develop confidence in holding a racquet - Transform a running style game to strategic play that requires less movement around the court - Feel more confident in playing tennis and participate in a short game After the one hour lesson, participants have the option of trying out their new techniques via the free Social Tennis group on Thursday mornings, or using any of the publicly available courts. Racquets can be provided upon request and tennis balls will be supplied by the Leopold Tennis Club for the session.
