The Melody Mamas – Singing Circle for Mums You’re invited to The Melody Mamas — a warm, relaxed singing circle created especially for mums. There are no auditions, no judgement and no expectation of perfection. Just the joy of singing in harmony with a welcoming group of women. This is a space to reconnect with yourself, build meaningful friendships and enjoy music in a supportive environment. You’ll grow your confidence, develop your vocal skills and learn uplifting pop songs arranged to suit the group. Babies and kids are welcome No babysitter needed. Babies, toddlers and or kids are welcome to come along and can sleep, feed, play or sing beside you. This is a family friendly space which allows mothers to pursue their passions with their sidekick in tow. However, if you prefer to come alone then do what works best for you! Please bring a play mat and a few simple toys if needed. The Community Room is a spacious, private room on Level 1 of the library, with access to a small kitchenette for a cuppa. What we’ll do At each gathering, we’ll explore an iconic pop song from the past or present. Together, we’ll learn the melody, discover the harmonies and enjoy the goosebump-inducing feeling of singing as a group. You can expect: Vocal warm-ups and exercises Gently prepare your voice and learn techniques to support healthy singing and group blending. Learn a new song Discover a fun, uplifting song and begin building a shared repertoire together. Guided harmony practice Learn your vocal part with clear guidance and a focus on confidence, blending and musical connection. Group sing-through Bring everything together and enjoy singing the song as one group. Event details 📍 Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library Level 1, Community Room 🗓 Weekly on Thursdays 🕚 11:00 am–12:00 pm Starting Thursday, 13 August 2026 Please arrive on time. The doors will lovingly close at 11:15 am to avoid disrupting the session once we have begun. What to bring Please bring: • A water bottle • A play mat and a few simple toys for your child, if needed • Your sheet music on a tablet or printed copy, where possible Sheet music and vocal recordings will be emailed to registered participants before each gathering. A small number of printed copies will also be available. Learning the music You’ll receive sheet music and vocal recordings before each session to help you become familiar with your part. There is no need to memorise anything or arrive with it perfectly learned. Listening and practising beforehand simply gives us more time during the session to enjoy harmonising, blending and making music together. Low-pressure participation The Melody Mamas is participatory, but always low-pressure. You’ll be encouraged to sing and join in, while also being supported to engage at your own pace. Take breaks when needed, care for your child and participate in whatever way feels right for you. This is a judgement-free community where every voice is welcome. Meet your vocal coach The Melody Makers is led by Laura Rowan, Founder and Vocal Coach at The Singing Collective. Laura is a local singing teacher with more than 10 years of professional experience in popular music and performance. She is passionate about helping singers discover their unique sound, build confidence and experience the joy of making music with others.
