Experience a tiny opera for tiny people. Ellis is too scared to sleep. Each time he lays down, he hears strange sounds: creaks, whispers, sighs. Ellis learns to listen and befriend these sounds, becoming the conductor of his very own Night Orchestra. This playful and heartfelt journey will resonate with anyone who has struggled with bedtime. Children and their caregivers are part of the action, joining the music making and storytelling, whilst introducing young people to classical instruments. Ellis and the Night Orchestra is a new work for young and family audiences by writer-director Julie Ritchey, composer-performer Tim Munro and ensemble Southern Cross Soloists. Blending chamber music and theatre, this playful and heartfelt production invites children aged 0 to 8 and their caregivers into an imaginative, participatory musical world.
