GCDLA'S 2026 Meet the Judiciary Breakfast

Join us for a delicious breakfast and a wonderful opportunity for the legal profession and members of judiciary to connect! Our biggest event of the year is back! Join us for breakfast at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Surfers Paradise as we come together for another fantastic morning of delicious food and legal professionals and practitioners have the opportunity to gain direct perspectives, practical insights, and guidance from judicial officers. The GCDLA is appreciative that this event has been so well supported by Judges and Magistrates of the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia, the District Court of Queensland and the Magistrates Court of Queensland in the past. The event has traditionally been a helpful ice-breaker for practitioners to see, meet and in select instances, hear from members of the Judiciary, about their experience and career path. The past feedback from the Judiciary has been positive in terms of the opportunity to engage with practitioners. Junior practitioners have reported feeling more confident after hearing that many members of the judiciary began their careers in similar positions and often navigated varied career paths and challenges before their appointments to the bench. Senior practitioners have welcomed the opportunity to engage with members of the judiciary in a professional and informal setting. Many noted that the event fostered collegiality and strengthened the important relationships between the bench and the profession. So grab your tickets and secure your chance to be a part of this fun morning out!
