Inclusive Person Centered Emergency Preparedness Workshop - Communication & Social Connectedness

Who would you turn to in an emergency? Strong connections and clear communication can make all the difference before, during and after an emergency. Having a support network and ensuring others understand your emergency plan can help you stay safe and recover more quickly. Join us for this free, practical workshop to learn how to strengthen your support network, communicate your emergency plan, and stay connected with the people who matter most. During this interactive session, we'll explore: • Building and strengthening your personal support network. • Identifying the people who can assist you before, during and after an emergency. • How to communicate your emergency plan with family, friends, carers and support providers. • Staying connected when normal communication methods are disrupted. • Accessing community support and local resources during emergencies. This workshop is suitable for: • People living with disability. • Older adults. • Carers, family members and support workers. • Anyone who wants to build stronger connections and be better prepared for emergencies. By the end of the workshop, you'll have practical tools, resources and greater confidence to strengthen your support network, communicate your emergency plan effectively, and stay connected during emergencies. This workshop is free to attend, but registrations are essential.
