Junior Ranger – Flying Friends

Help your Junior Ranger (ages 8-12) uncover the extraordinary world of bats at this FLYING FRIENDS free event at David Fleay Wildlife Park. Can your child spot the difference between a flying fox and a microbat? With Rhiannon, President of Bats Queensland, at the helm, your child will explore the remarkable features and behaviours that make bats so fascinating – from echolocation to the vital role these misunderstood mammals play in keeping Queensland's ecosystems healthy. They'll also learn how to spot when a bat needs help and what to do about it safely – a skill that could make a real difference one day. Wear a hat and enclosed shoes for this fully supervised, child-only session that is part of the Parks Connect Junior Ranger program. Parks Connect is proudly supported through funding from the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
