A hands-on, practical workshop covering everything runners need to know about how they move and what's holding them back. Welcome back to the SOF's 3rd iteration of the running mechanics workshop. This workshop will teach you how to run better. We break it down into understanding the following: • How you run and generate forces in the ground (with real life VALD testing metrics) • Why and how strength training influences running and how it applies to you • Provide practical take home exercises that you can implement immediately to help your running. A breakdown of the event includes: • Running mechanics fundamentals — foot strike, posture, forward lean • Testing — single leg calf raise, CMJ (force plates), single leg hop test • Biomechanical understanding — what the data tells us • Injury prevention — the most common causes of running injuries and how to address them • Programming — how to complement your running with strength work
