Poetry Workshop: Confessions, Secrets & Lies, with Sarah Temporal (VIC)

Join prize-winning poet Sarah Temporal to explore how poetry reveals our hidden selves. Dipping into examples from current Australian poets, you will be guided through exercises to approach your truth from different angles. This inclusive workshop is suitable for beginner to advanced writers, enabling us to transform secrets into powerful poems. Sarah Temporal uses poetry to reveal what is hidden. Her writing explores birth, death, desire, motherhood and late-diagnosed autism, ranging from personal confessions to reclaimed fairy tales. Arriving after twenty years of performing live, Tight Bindings is her first published collection. She won the Nimbin Poetry World Cup and Bunker Slam, and has been awarded residencies with Arts Queensland and Varuna, the National Writers House. With a background in education, she has taught poetry to hundreds of people, from ages 5 to 95, and now runs a regional arts initiative (Poets Out Loud) to empower voices of all ages.
