St David’s Park 100th birthday garden party

Celebrate the centenary of St David's Park in Hobart with a brass band playing from the rotunda and free Devonshire tea at this special garden party. Join us on Friday 13 November 2026 in St David's Park to be part of this historical event. Get in early for a table and enjoy a free Devonshire tea while listening to a brass band playing from the rotunda. There will also be plenty of room on the lawn for picnic rugs. The celebrations start at 10am and finish at 1pm. Roving actors in period costume will transport us back in time to the 1920s, when the design of the park was first imagined. There will be a special speaker talking about the historical significance of the park over the past 100 years. We will also hold a ceremonial planting of two young giant sequoias, replacing the two lost earlier this year.
