Full description from organizer

The Trauma-Informed Training Program is designed specifically for the Tasmanian housing and homelessness sector. This intensive, yearlong training package offers a cohesive, sequential learning experience grounded in an Action Learning framework. Rather than a one-off training, the 5-block targeted capacity-building training program embeds Trauma-Informed practice through ongoing learning, reflection, application, and peer exchange, recognising that meaningful practice change occurs over time. Participants may enrol in individual blocks or complete the full program. We are pleased to continue the trauma informed, capacity-building training schedule with Block 4 Vicarious Trauma — Building Resilience & Vicarious Growth sessions for the Housing and Homelessness Sector. These face-to-face sessions will be facilitated by Dr Carly Cameron, Director and Principal Psychologist at Bend Consulting. About the Training This full-day, face-to-face workshop is the Vicarious Trauma — Building Resilience & Vicarious Growth of the 2026 Trauma-Informed Training Series. Designed for frontline workers, team leaders, and managers across the housing and homelessness sector, the training provides a shared language and framework for Trauma-Informed practice. Building on the foundational training and online modules, this full-day, in-person workshop explores the impact of vicarious trauma on individuals, teams, and organisational systems. Participants will deepen their understanding of how trauma exposure accumulates over time and identify both risk and protective factors at multiple levels. The session moves beyond harm prevention to also explore the concept of vicarious growth, highlighting opportunities for meaning, resilience, and professional sustainability. Key areas of focus include: • Recognising signs and impacts of vicarious trauma • Strengthening individual and collective resilience • Supporting healthy, connected, and reflective teams • Organisational strategies that buffer against trauma exposure The day integrates theory, reflection, and practical tools to support long-term workforce wellbeing.
