Have you ever wondered—if you had taken a different path back then, where would you be now?” What if Li Wenhao had never gone back to that theatre company? What if Zheng Yunshu had stopped being the one who stayed behind, time after time? What if Xu Mingze had learned to speak instead of retreating into silence? What if the three of them had actually made it to the stage they once promised they would reach together? Life is full of these what-ifs. But once fate has written its version of the story, there is no going back to revise the page. The story follows three young people whose lives first became intertwined through theatre. Years later, changed by the realities they have each lived through, they find themselves together again. An unfinished production brings them back into the same rehearsal room—and forces them to confront everything they once left unresolved. Dreams. Friendship. Leaving. And the question of whether we ever have the right to decide what a “better ending” should look like for someone else. Once, they were walking the same road. It was only later that they realised— the moments when our lives truly begin to diverge rarely make a sound.
