Amanda Anderson workshop

This workshop is an opportunity discuss the work of one of the leading literary and critical theorists of our time. Amanda Anderson offers a complex picture of liberal traditions of thought from the nineteenth century to the Cold War era and beyond. Going against the grain of modern and contemporary critiques of liberalism, she us alerts to the diverse range of ideas in this tradition that continue to be relevant in our time. Combining moral philosophy, psychology, and sociological theory, Anderson’s writings offer a powerful ethical and aesthetic resource for contemplating our crisis-ridden age. Four essays by Prof Anderson will be circulated to all registered participants two weeks before the event. Afternoon tea will be provided.
