Artist Seminar Night - Hosted by The Black Mark

Bringing together five world-class tattoo artists for an exclusive evening of knowledge, honest conversation and industry connection. Instagram shows you the finished tattoo. This room lets you ask how it got there. Two nights before the Australian Tattoo Expo Melbourne, we're putting five of the best artists in the game in one studio, with 70 artists and apprentices, for one night. No stage barrier. No pre-recorded content. Five live sessions, and after every one, you get to put your hand up and ask the question you've actually been stuck on. Your setup. Your colour. Your placement. Your career. This is a masterclass you can't get anywhere else. It's not online, it's not on a course, and it won't happen again like this. What you'll learn • Lines blowing out or not healing right? Tattoo Machine Theory with Mick Squires. 25+ years behind the machine. Mick shows you how to tune your setup to your hand, your style and your technique. • Hit a ceiling and not sure what's next? Five Wisdoms with Kristian Kimonides. The five lessons passed down by tattooers Kristian respects most, and exactly how each one changed his design and his work. • Want to know how world-class realism actually gets made? The Complete Tattoo Process with Steve Butcher. Colour matching, mixing, advanced technique, and the discipline behind his realism. Start to finish. • Colour not landing the way you see it in your head? Colour Realism Insight with DBKaye. Nearly two decades of techniques, creative calls and hard-earned lessons that transformed his colour realism. • Great design, wrong spot on the body? Placement, Freehand & Problem Solving with Gordo Letters. His abstract calligraphy lives or dies on how it moves with the body. Gordo breaks down anatomy, movement, lettering and freehand that flows.
