About the Course This course provides a structured and practical approach to upper airway management, designed for Intensive Care, Emergency, and Anaesthetics trainees, as well as a valuable refresher for consultants. Common airway challenges such as difficult intubation and tracheostomy complications are covered in depth. Key themes include recognizing high-risk airways and mastering advanced rescue techniques to prevent airway disasters. Course Highlights • Pre-course reading material and MCQs for preparation • E-learning modules and interactive classroom lectures • Hands-on skill stations focused on rescue techniques and crisis decision-making CICM & ANZCA Approved • Meets CICM’s Advanced Airway curriculum requirements (2014) • ANZCA CPD Program approved: claim this CICO course as an emergency response activity (ER-15-CICO-004) The Course will cover • Direct and indirect laryngoscopy (video laryngoscopy) • Laryngeal mask airways • Bronchoscopy and fibre-optic intubation • Tracheostomy and cricothyrotomy • Intubation planning, airway assessment Endotracheal tube exchange • Acute upper airway obstruction
