Bold Beginner Linocut Printing with Emilie

More than just a floor covering! Did you know that linocut has been used in printing for over a century and this technique was originally for making wallpaper? Printing with linocut is similar to woodcut printmaking but a bit easier to work with (because it has no grain to consider like wood). In this class, you will learn the entire process spanning designing, carving, inking and printing your own unique design! This class supports absolute beginners. This class happens in Brunswick. What we will cover? In this class, you will learn: • How to design and illustrate for printmaking • All about the history, tools and process of printmaking • To carve your design into a lino tile • Learn to print! At the end of the class you will take home a limited edition print of your own design (signed by the artist of course!). If you have a particular image in mind, you can bring some photos or preparatory drawings. No worries if you don’t – we’ll help you work on your design as well!
