Full description from organizer

EXPLORING CONSENT, POWER, CAPACITY AND RESPONSIBILITY IN KINK, BDSM AND POWER EXCHANGE. CAPACITY TO CONSENT: Oz Kink Fest Forum Event Informed Enthusiastic Consent is the cornerstone of our community. Without the creation of consensual containers for play, our whole sub-culture is meaningless. Over the last ten years the kink community has played a huge part in consent education for the masses - sharing their knowledge of consent culture, moving into the mainstream to continue consent education, and furthering conversations in everyday life. Oz Kink Fest in conjunction with Our Kink presents Capacity To Consent: a live forum event examining how our capacity to consent affects outcomes in kink and power play. Facilitated by Our Kink podcast host MisKnickers, the panel features a great line-up of speakers, ready to delve into the topic for an enthusiastic chat – unraveling the concepts of consent and offering practical suggestions to enhance your own lifestyle. Topics for discussion include: · Identifying capacity in ourselves and others · Gaging capacity: eg. Physical, emotional, intellectual, financial · Privilege and Power Imbalance · The relationship between capacity and consent · Self-protection and self-regulation · PLUS AN AUDIENCE Q&A – what do YOU want to know? Our panelists are: Ms Kitten (she/her): For the last two years Cape Town-based fetish artist, the brillaint Ms Kitten has joined the Oz Kink Fest team as both a workshop presenter and performer. Co-creator and eternal collaborator at Let It Reign and Reign of Blood, Ms Kitten is a fetish artist, performer, and kink educator who teaches everything from blood play and sharps all the way through to scene preparation, consent and aftercare. As someone who’s work in deeply rooted in community, Ms Kitten welcomes the opportunity to connect with Melbourne kinksters in this intimate conversational setting. Bella Valkyrie (she/her): For the past decade, Bella has been running workshops and worked as a professional dominatrix in an educational space – you may even recognise her as a safe pair of hands at Provocation where she DM’s each month. Integrating mind, body, and sex therapy into her approach to BDSM, her focus extends to vital topics such as communication, safe kink practices, and the nuanced dynamics of consent, especially in contexts involving substances. Bella brings a wealth of knowledge to the panel, along with an enthusiasm to share. Sai Jaiden Lillith (they/them): One of the amazing head honchos at the Australian School of Sexuality, Sai has worked professionally in kink and alternative communities for much of their adult life. Songwriter, musician, performer, educator, Sai brings it all to the table! Whether they’re teaching an intensive, engaged in ritual, rigging up cuties while an industrial metal band plays live, or making ASSFest happen you can bet that with Sai on the panel, you’re in for an informative, riveting, and spectacular time. DK Blackfish (they/them): Visiting Australia for the very first time and joining the OKF 2026 line-up with a specialised rope intensive on offer over the workshop weekend, LA-based rope Top, DK Blackfish has watched many a ‘slow train wreck’ as consent issues have rattled the kink scene in the US. As someone who plays with intensity and transformative experiences, DK is deeply committed to working within the capacity of themselves and their partners. Coming to the panel with 25 years of kink exploration under their belt, DK also brings a passion to unravel the issues surrounding consent within the kink and BDSM world. Your Facilitator: MisKnickers (they/she): Event organiser, podcast host, writer and Force of Nature… MisKnickers has been actively engaged in the Melbourne Kink Community for close to twenty years. Beginning their journey as an eager guinea pig, MisKnickers demo-bottomed and modelled for an array of educators before stepping into more organisational and administrative roles as an event organiser, personal assistant to sex and kink workers, and eventually, creating and managing Our Kink.
