Get ready to whip up some tasty Vietnamese dishes, meet new friends & collaborators, and enjoy a fun, hands-on cooking session! Forget awkward networking and forced introductions. This time, we’re starting in the kitchen! 👨🏻‍🍳🥗 ​Join us for a hands-on Vietnamese cooking class led by Laura, restaurant owner and chef at GK Tapas. Alongside a small group of around 30 people, you’ll prepare a selection of Vietnamese dishes, sit down to enjoy what you’ve made, and connect over a shared meal. ​Cooking gives everyone something to do, talk about, and laugh over...making it an easy, natural way to meet new people. Whether you come on your own or bring someone along, you’ll leave with new skills, new connections, and, hopefully, a few new friends. ​Tickets are donation based! Pay what you like and can. You might be a founder, creator, freelancer, professional, student, newcomer to Melbourne, or simply someone looking for an interesting Saturday afternoon. ​You don’t need any cooking experience, and you don’t need to arrive with an elevator pitch. Come as you are—solo or with friends. ​What to expect ​11:30 am — Arrive and settle in Meet the group, get comfortable, and prepare for the class. ​Cooking class Laura will guide us through a hands-on Vietnamese cooking experience. We’ll prepare the dishes together in small groups, making it easy to start conversations while we cook. ​Shared meal Once the cooking is complete, we’ll sit down to enjoy what we’ve created. ​Conversation and connection The rest of the afternoon is yours to eat, chat, exchange ideas, and build new connections without the pressure of traditional networking. ​The experience will finish at approximately 4:00 pm. ​Dietary requirements ​Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements can be accommodated. ​Please include your dietary needs and any allergies when registering so the venue can prepare appropriately.
