Creative writing workshop and open mic night (Hum Saath Safe Spaces)

Join us for an evening of gentle creativity, shared voices and community connection. This combined open mic night and writing workshop invites South Asian and multicultural community members to explore storytelling as a tool for expression, healing and collective wellbeing. The night begins with a guided writing session where participants can reflect on identity, belonging, resilience and the moments that shape us. No experience is needed, just a willingness to show up and write. Our facilitators will offer simple prompts and supportive activities designed to help people express themselves in a safe, culturally aware environment. After the workshop, we open the space for an intimate open mic. Participants are welcome to read what they’ve written, share poetry, music, spoken word or simply listen. Every contribution is optional, and every voice is valued. This event is part of Hum Saath’s ongoing commitment to creating safe, stigma‑free spaces for multicultural community. We focus on connection, compassion and community care not crisis content. The evening is designed to be grounding, low‑pressure and supportive. Hum Saath Safe spaces supports community through monthly safe space nights, who have been impacted by suicide or mental health by providing connection, discussion and support.
