DIY Fashion: Lounge Pants Measuring and Pattern Making with Robyn

Please note this is a 2hr class to allow time to finish the pattern Have you ever wanted to make your own clothes but didn't know where to start? Come and learn the skills for making a pattern for loose lounging pants using your own measurements. This class is perfect for total beginners who want to start the journey to making your own clothes, and to your specific measurements! Pattern making is the art of rending the 3D body and garments into 2D and creating paper templates. These templates then guide the fabric cutting, assembling and sewing into a 3D garment. This beginner pattern class focuses on creating that first paper template, by learning to take our own measurements and adjustments, and translating this into a workable pattern. You'll leave knowing how to use your pattern to cut, assemble and sew fabric into a lounge pant Your teacher Robyn Bunting has worked extensively in costume making, fashion and design and will hand on her experience as you learn the first steps to making clothes. Robyn Bunting (she/her) is a reuse, repurpose and remake enthusiast who was the owner of the studio and business ‘Harold and Maude‘ on level 2 of the Nicholas Building, that focused on recycling, repurposing and remaking. She has spent 35 years working in theatre, film and television industry making all sorts of things - costumes and props and whatever you can imagine! - using sewing and craft technique of all types.
