Follow Your Organic Waste 2026 – Tour Veolia’s Facility

Small actions can make a big impact. By placing your food scraps and garden clippings in your green-lid FOGO bin, you help keep organic waste out of landfill. Instead, it is transformed into nutrient-rich compost that supports healthy soils and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Thanks to Darebin residents correctly using their FOGO bins, around 40,000 tonnes of organic material have been diverted from landfill since 2024. This material has been processed at Veolia's Organics Processing Facility and transformed into compost. As part of National Recycling Week 2026, join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility and discover how your food and garden waste is transformed into high-quality compost and mulch. On this tour, you'll have the opportunity to: • See how FOGO is processed into compost. • Experience the facility in operation. • Ask questions and hear from industry experts.
