Open Sewing Sessions

Open Sessions is an open studio space designed for independent making, shared energy, and steady creative progress. Honey Bones Gallery becomes a relaxed, community-focused workspace where you can bring your own sewing, repair, or upcycling projects and work alongside others. Whether you're mending a favourite piece, developing a garment idea, refining an alteration, or experimenting with something new, this space is here to help you keep momentum. You’ll have access to sewing machines, shared tools, and materials, along with light-touch expert sewing and design guidance throughout the session. Think of it as supported studio time. You lead your project, and we’re there to offer technical advice, problem-solving support, construction tips, and design direction when you need it. This isn’t a structured class. There’s no set outcome. It’s a space to continue, refine, test ideas, and build confidence in your creative process and broaden your practice. Open Sessions is about carving out time to focus, being around others who are making, and having access to knowledgeable support without the pressure of a formal workshop structure. Bring your project at whatever stage it’s in, half-finished, just started, or still forming in your mind, and use the session to move it forward. This is not a beginner class. If you've never sewn before we recommend starting with our Back to Basics workshop. To keep the cost of this workshop accessible for community. We kindly ask that you allow 15minutes at the end of the workshop to help us pack up the communal space.
