Realistic Pompom Cat Heads with Anther

Join Anther for this special double class to learn how to sculpt a realistic cat head from a yarn pompom! These can be used as keyrings, wall decor, a special memorial piece, or a pretty amazing gift for a cat lover! Due to the time constrains in the class we will learn to wind pompoms with basic cat patterns: A single colour, and one with a different coloured snout. Stripes and other patches and markings are then added using wool or eyeshadow. For more complicated cat patterns, there will be a book from which you may photograph your pattern of cat, to create at home. What will we cover? • How to read a graph pattern to make a basic cat using a clover-style pompom maker and wool yarn, with optional fur patterns. • Going away with a graph pattern closest to your own cat, so you can work on it at home with your new skills. • Cutting and needle felting to sculpt facial features • How to apply eyes, nose and other details • Using eyeshadow to add stripes and coat details to a cat's face. • Realistic shading to give it depth Additional materials: Note: There will be a lot of wool and wool-acrylic blend fibres blown around after cutting.
