Known for concentrated blackcurrant, cassis and dark berry flavours layered with cedar, tobacco and savoury spice, Cabernet develops complexity and character beautifully with age while still holding freshness and restraint. It’s also one of the great food wines, particularly with richly flavoured lamb dishes, because its firm tannins cut through richness while the wine’s dark fruit and savoury notes complement the depth and intensity of the meat.
